The bench consists of glulam spruce and six copper pipes one meter in length. You can find these with different diameters in the bathroom and sanitary department of your DIY store.
Instead of laminated wood, you can also process particularly stable plywood or inexpensive MDF boards. It looks especially nice when you paint them in your favorite color.
- Wood for the seat à 131 x 36 centimeters
- three side panels of 40 x 36 centimeters
- a shelf for the tray à 25 x 36 centimeters (everything here from glulam spruce)
- six copper tubes one meter long and 15 millimeters in diameter
- six round logs of beech one meter long and with a diameter of 10 millimeters
- matching wood screws
Tip: The material can be cut at the hardware store for free.
Depending on the type of wood, the material costs are around 50 to 70 euros.
- Cordless Drill
- Ruler or ruler
In my design, the wood panels are simply bolted together. This is even easier if you pre-drill the holes.
As the seat rests on the sidewalls, you can use them as a ruler and mark three points in the corresponding area at the ends of the seat. One in the middle and two at the edges, each about three inches from the edge. Then take the two side panels of the compartment and mark three more points for the floor.
So that the shoes later have enough space, the two bar floors are at a height of 10 and 25 centimeters.
Now mark points for the poles in the same places on the third side wall.
Now you can pre-drill all holes including the round logs. It is easier to screw together if you now screw the screws into the wood a little bit. They should not get through on the other side though.
Start with the tray on the left and first screw the sidewalls against the bottom of the tray. Then tighten the seat on this side of the bench.
If you do not dare to build the shoe rack yourself, let yourself be helped by a professional.
